We’re hiring an Associate Festival Producer!

Are you interested in event planning? Do you have an appreciation for Celtic culture? Be a part of one of Fredericton’s longest running and most popular festivals.

The New Brunswick Highland Games Festival is a volunteer-driven festival that has been held since 1981 and its purpose is to promote and celebrate Scottish and Celtic culture. Our Festival attracts visitors from all over the world. We are currently looking for a summer student to join our dedicated team who is able to work with a committed group of volunteers in planning and executing the 41st edition of our Festival.

You must be extremely organized; have office experience; fluent with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace; some marketing or event planning experience; able to work some evenings and weekends (including all of July 22nd-July 30th); an interest in Celtic culture is a major plus; and you must be able to work independently and meet deadlines and have access to a vehicle. Bilingualism is considered an asset.

This position will be funded through the Student Employment Experience Development (SEED) program so the candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a resident of New Brunswick (must have lived in New Brunswick for at least 6 months) or a First Nation community in New Brunswick;
  • Be eligible to work in Canada (must have a valid SIN number);
  • NOT be an immediate family member (spouse, children, parent, brother or sister) of the employer;
  • Be a high school student entering grade 10, 11, or 12 in September 2024; OR
  • Be a full-time Grade 12, university or college student in the current academic year of 2023-2024 AND attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall of 2024.
