Dear Friends,
Planning is well under way for our 32nd New Brunswick Highland Games Festival, to take place July 26 to July 28, 2013 on the grounds of Government House.
Competitors and spectators rank our festival as the best in eastern Canada. For the third year in a row, the NB Highland Games Festival was named one of The American Bus Association 2012 Top 100 Events and Festivals!! We are proud of these distinctions and recognize that since 2002 the generosity of Friends of the Games has helped us maintain this excellence.
Each year the challenge is to offer something that will guarantee freshness to the traditions of heavy events, highland dancing, piping & drumming, educational elements and Celtic entertainment. All this can happen again for 2013 with the hard work of many volunteers, with the extraordinary level of commitment by the Friends of the Games and along with other fundraisers.
Please join us for a Fundraiser Breakfast, on Saturday, April 13 in the Community Room of Willie O’Ree Place from 8:00AM to 10:30 AM. The breakfast cost is $6.00 per adult and $4.00 per child. What a great way to meet many of the organizing committee!
If you have not already done so, please renew your Friend of the Games support. All donations will receive a tax-deductible receipt. The enclosed information describes the different levels and benefits of your Friends contribution. Payroll deductions are also available through the United Way; if you are interested in this method of support, please contact your Personnel representative at work to assist you. If $100 to become an Amethyst Supporter is not possible for you we will gratefully accept whatever is comfortable for you to give. With your permission, pledges of $100.00 or more will be posted on the Games website at www.highlandgames.ca. On the Games Weekend, you are encouraged to take advantage of the friendly, comfortable surroundings and complimentary refreshments of the Friends/VIP Tent. This is a benefit available only to Friends of the Games, Partners and invited VIP guests.
We encourage you to be as generous as you can and ensure the continuation of this great cultural event. Please invite yourfriends and family to come aboard and become a Friend of the New Brunswick Highland Games Festival.
Thank you for support! See you on Friday evening July 26 when “Ten Strings and a Goat Skin” will help kick off the weekend in the Ceilidh Tent on the Games Site. We also look forward to meeting you again on Saturday and Sunday July 27/28 in the Friends/VIP Tent.
